Tea is produced slightly differently in Fujian Province, China. Following an ancient method, tea leaves are placed in bamboo baskets and dried over glowing pine embers. This imparts the wonderful smoky flavor that Lapsang Souchong is famous for.
What makes this tea different?
There is no more distinct aroma or flavor than Lapsang Souchong. It all comes down to the pinewood smoke that permeates the tea leaves when they are dried.
